NOVEMBER 19, 2011, SHOP FOR A CURE, LOUISVILLE, KY
Five years ago, Nancy Huhn was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. She has never been a smoker, but was unknowingly exposed to radon in her home for almost fifteen years. Nancy has beaten the odds and is now a proud survivor and active volunteer for LCFA. Her latest project was hosting a fundraising event for the Lung Cancer Foundation of America to raise awareness of lung cancer and radon levels in Kentucky and to raise funds for lung cancer research. Donations and a portion of all sales were donated to LCFA for disease and treatment research to bring us closer to a cure for lung cancer.

NOVEMBER 19, 2011, NAMASTE FOR LUNG CANCER, ROSEVILLE, CA
Yoga has so many ways of relaxing one's mind and body. This is especially true when dealing with the stresses of a loved one having lung cancer.

Namaste for Lung Cancer a unique event to help the friends and families of lung cancer victims while raising funds for lung cancer research, was held on November 19, 2011 in Roseville, CA. Participants enjoyed a 2 hour yoga class and also took pleasure in the knowledge that their donations for the class benefit lung cancer research through LCFA.

Namaste - Let us honor the spirit in each other. We are all equal. The word "namaste" removes the ugly stigma surrounding lung cancer. Please help us honor the spirit in those who are struggling with lung cancer, patients, families and caregivers alike.

APRIL 29, 2011, 5TH ANNUAL GOLF4ERIK TOURNAMENT, UPLAND, CA
The 5th annual golf tournament honoring the memory of Erik Hidalgo was held on April 29, 2011 in Upland, CA. Each year since 2007, Erik's family has hosted a golf tournament in his honor with the proceeds going to charity. This year, the Hidalgo family team designated Lung Cancer Foundation of America as the recipient of their fundraising efforts - and what a successful event it was!

Erik Hidalgo, a non-smoker, was just 24 years old when lung cancer took his life, six days before his first wedding anniversary and a mere 68 days after his diagnosis. Erik was also an employee of the Jonsson Cancer Center at UCLA where his computer knowledge, gentle manner and ease with people made him a fast favorite with everyone on the fund-raising team. He truly enjoyed his job, which he found inspiring because he believed the work of the cancer center was so important.
